Dr. Urmimala got her MBBS in University of Calcutta, and MD in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

She became a fellow in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive surgery in AIIMS New Delhi, India. Dr. Urmimala is also a Diplomate of the National Board of examinations, New Delhi, India
